Amla or Gooseberry is one of the richest sources of Vitamin C. It is said that one Gooseberry as almost as much Vitamin C as is available in three Oranges. Besides this it is also rich in Iron and many other vitamins and minerals that are responsible for boosting and maintaining our immune system.
Amla is also famous for its benefits on hair growth and shine. It is heavily used in preparing oils and shampoos. So despite all of these benefits is it not strange that we don’t consume it directly? Well, actually we do, but not as much as we should. One of the most famous recipes that contains Amla is the Indian Chavanprash. It is known to have such amazing health benefits that they say if someone consumes just one spoon of Chavanprash every day he/she would never suffer from any health ailment.
Having said that, one of the main reasons why we don’t eat much of Amla is that its taste is not very appealing to the taste buds.
In today’s recipe we’re solving that very problem. You can prepare Jam using Gooseberry (Amla) which can be stored for upto 6 months and consumed on a regular basis to replenish all the benefits that Amla has on your health.

- 250 gram Gooseberry (आंवला - २५० ग्राम)
- 250 gram Sugar (चीनी - २५० ग्राम)
- 1 pinch Food color (yellow) (फ़ूद कलर (पीला) - १ चुटकी)
